Slop bowl
Nantgarw China Works (1813 - 1822)
Slop bowl, soft-paste porcelain, clear slightly greenish translucency, lustrous glaze with a grey-green tinge; standing on a shallow foot, low spreading sides. Decorated with a gilt line at the foot, the lower part plain below a running border of gilt scrolls and pink enamel dots, band above strewn with with gilt dot flower heads on red thread stems with two gilt leaves, another running border of pink and gilt dots between blue lines above, deckeled gilt line at the lip, which is edged inside with gilt ermine tails and red dots, the centre painted with a pink dog rose with foliage and two buds.
