S.S. BURHILL, glass negative
¾ Port bow view of S.S. BURHILL.
Built 1944 by John Readhead & Sons Ltd, South Shields as EMPIRE GREY. Sold in 1947 to Zinal Steamship Co Ltd and renamed BURHILL, she operated under the management of J Burness & Sons Ltd, London. Sold in 1951 to Golden Cross Line Ltd and renamed LONDON CITY, chartered by Bristol City Line. Sold later that year to Barberry's Steamship Co Ltd and renamed CHEPMAN under the management of Runciman (London) Ltd. Sold in 1957 to Great Eastern Shipping Co, Bombay, renamed JAG JANANI. Sold to Abid and Co. in 1960 and scrapped in 1961 at Bombay.
