Tea bowl and saucer
Tea bowl, hard-paste porcelain, standing on a short cylindrical foot-rim, cylindrical sides tapering inwards towards the foot-rim, very slightly flaring lip-rim; finely painted in polychrome enamels with to one side of the exterior body of the tea bowl a rustic landscape with sheep and a cow resting in front of an overgrown brick structure, the bottom of the scene bordered by rococo scrolls in gilt, around the rest of the exterior of the tea bowl scattered sprigs of naturalistic flowers, a gilt band around the foot-rim, a gilt dentil edge around the interior lip-rim. Saucer, hard-paste porcelain, standing on a short cylindrical foot-rim, rounded curving sides; finely painted in polychrome enamels with to the centre of the well a rustic landscape with a sheep and a cow grazing in front of an overgrown stone tower, the bottom of the scene bordered by rococo scrolls in gilt, around the sides of the well scattered sprigs of flowers and foliage, a gilt band around the foot-rim, a gilt dentil border around the rim. The rim cracked and repaired.
