Dillwyn & Co., Cambrian Pottery (1811 - 1817 and 1824 - 1850)
Plate, earthenware, circular shape with rounded foot-rim, curving sides and spreading rim, a slightly raised edge to the well, four shallow notches and lobes to the rim; transfer-printed in blue with the 'Whampoa' pattern, a collection of stylised oriental pagodas in the foreground linked by bridges and fences and with a spreading tree issuing out og the largest of them, surrounded by further pagodas on islands in an expanse of water and a figure in a boat, border to the rim of elaborate scrolls with flower heads and foliage against a scale-like ground.
