Teapot
Teapot and cover, soft-paste 'duck-egg' porcelain, pronounced green translucency and a green tinge to the glaze; rectangular 'London' shape with rounded corners, pronounced mould lines, upcurving spout with moulded ornament at the top, and c-scroll handle with foliate moulded thumbpiece; rectangular domed cover with a flattened top and grooved pyramid finial; pierced with sixteen pouring holes arranged in an inverted triangle. The teapot decorated with a broad underglaze band round the sides, reserved with three ovals of flowers on a white ground amid red and white chrysanthemum heads and gilt foliage; a further band of gilt foliage on the shoulders, handle and spout partly gilded, cover edged with a blue band bearing gilt leaves, and painted around the finial with an oriental landscape of foliage, rocks and fence. The stand decorated to match, with an underglaze blue rim, reserved with three oval panels of flowers, and with red and white chrysanthemum heads and gilt foliage, and with an oriental landscape of foliage, rocks and a fence within a salmon pink band bearing gilt laurel leaves.
