Model of Gorsedd

Vale of Clwyd Toys

Wooden model of Gorsedd member, wearing white robes and a crown of gold withn dark green textile, holding a scroll in left hand. The model has been shaped of thin cut plywood and the face and costume painted in detail on one side and glued to a rectangular base of bare plywood. On underside of model the name 'Cadvan' has been handwritten in ink; Cadvan (John Cadvan Davies) was the Gorsedd Bard. He later became Archdruid 1923-24.

Part of a model of the 1914 Gorsedd of the Bards. Made by the Vale of Clwyd Toy Factory in Trefnant. The company provided employment for wounded soldiers during and after the First World War. As a result of the outbreak of war, the Bangor National Eisteddfod of 1914 was postponed until 1915.
