Pot-lid
Pot-lid, earthenware, circular shape with cylindrical flange and convex top; the upperside of the lid decorated with an underglaze polychrome transfer-print of 'Sebastopol', showing a harbour scene with shipping at anchor in front of a distant cityscape, in the foreground are figures on a dirt track including a figure driving a cart pulled by camels, around the bottom of the scene is printed the inscription "SEBASTOPOL", the print enclosed by a circular ropework border in brown. The glaze crazed.
