Early Iron Age bronze strap, riveted
Curved strap or tie fragment, pierced by two rivets and one torn rivet hole along a break. When the strap is refitted with 2005.4H/1.8 -1.9 the flared end of the strap fits snugly around the outer sied of the upper rod plate. At the other end, the torn hole marries up with the central rod stub on the outer side of the brim. It is possible that the strap acted as a strengthener at the join of the sheets on the brim.
