Seal impression: Durham Episcopal
The bishop standing on a corbel, in pontificals with short mitre, and orphreyed chasuble (last to be so on a Durham seal) with rationale. Field diapered lozengy, a cresecnt or mullet alternately in each compartment: the intersections charged with a cinquefoil. In field, dext. the numeral, (secundus) as Richard was the second occupation of the see to bear that Christian name. Cabled borders.
