Medieval silver finger ring
Silver gilt devotional iconographic finger ring. It has five integrally cast oval bezels, alternating with narrow, plain oval beads. Each of the bezels bears a different cast design. One bears the image of Christ in a loincloth, from waist up - probably an image of Pity. One is cast with the symbols of the Passion of Christ (hammer, nails and crown of thorns). The three others bear symbols of the wounds of Christ: the sacred heart, the hands and the feet. The backgrounds of each bezel and countersunk within a plain oval border, but there are no signs of enamel. The ring is broken in two sections.
