The earl on horseback to sinister, in mail and surcoat; helmet with visor closed bears a fan-crest and pennon-like mantling; with his right hand he holds a sword aloft. (On fine impressions, shield and horse trappings bear arms: semy-de-lis, a lion rampant debruised by a bend, BEAUMONT). Horse bears a fan-crest.
