Early Medieval human remains
These remains of a young man aged between 25 and 35 years old were found buried at Llanbedr-goch on Anglesey.
The man has cut marks to his arm and skull, which happened at the time of death. His wrists appear to have been tied behind his back. He died in the 900s, when Vikings were raiding and trading around the coast of Wales. His body was thrown on top of another, a boy who was 9 to 14 years old. They were buried together, one of a group of burials found outside the ramparts of the important trading centre.
