Greek copper alloy helmet
"Kataitix". This extremely rare example which in its original state must have been a splendid head-piece, traces of its surface having been gilt. The decoration takes the form of a border comosed of a double row of embossed pearling. Helmets of this type are recorded to have been made of leather, but no other example of bronze is known.
