Tankard
Tankard, pale cream-coloured earthenware stained a deeper shade, inset base within a flattened-off foot-rim, cylindrical sides, plain loop handle; transfer-printed in black with to the front of the exterior body an oval panel containing an interior scene with two figures, a dog and a coffin, on which is printed the inscription "TOM / BOWLING", to the bottom left of the panel is the inscription "T. FLETCHER", below the panel is printed the verse "Poor Tom Bowling...etc", both the panel and the verse are enclosed by foliate garlands. The foot-rim and lip-rim chipped, narrow cracks to the body.
