Flower decoration
GRANT, Duncan (1885-1978)
According to R. Shone - probably a firescreen decorative panel of c. 1919. D.G said it was painted about 1918.
Grant has used a consciously naïve style to paint this decorative flower study. They were probably painted for a fire screen. At this time Grant was living at Charleston in Sussex. The house is famous for the interior painted by Grant and Vanessa Bell. Both artists were then working as designers for the Omega Workshop. Omega aimed to break down divisions between fine and decorative art.
