Jug, earthenware, rounded protruding foot-rim, globular body with cylindrical neck, plain upright spout, plain loop handle; transfer-printed in blue with the 'Swiss Villa' pattern, an elaborate gabled building by the side of a lake with mountains in the background, the scene framed along the bottom and right sides with scrolling flowers and foliage, a border of large flower heads on a blue ground to the neck surmounted by a narrow hounds-tooth border to the lip-rim, and also to the interior and exterior spout, a running border of diamond shapes, flower heads and stylized leaves to the handle.
