Roman pottery lamp
About one quarter of the top plate and hollowed discus of a lamp of Loeschcke type I or IV, probably the latter. Hard cream coloured ware with slight greenish tinge; pale buff slip darkening to grey-brown where it fills grooves etc: Lyon ware. Discus decorated in relief with rosette of four bilobate petals; central oil-hole, all encircled by a single groove.
