Early Iron Age bronze handle strap

Small cast handle strap fragment with loop exhibiting three rounded ribs cast together but no lateral flanges. The underside of the loop is even, but curved and raised 6-7mm high. Part of a convex shaped attachment plate is present, though both ends are broken off. The plate appears flat, suggesting attachment onto a brim rather than a curved vessel. On the underside of the plate, the junction between plate and loop has an even curve further supporting a brim position. Two irregular, flat headed rivets secure sheet vessel fragment ot the strap. The strap appears to have been burnt. The combination of features suggest if once belonged to a ring-handled bowl or small cauldron with a brim(external rim diameter 220-260mm). the attachment of the handle plate to the brim by rivets rather than rods in only paralleled on Class B2 Type Raffrey Bog, Variant Sompting cauldrons, which also have lateral strip stays to support the rim.
