Sampler
Embroidered sampler depicting a map of Wales with the counties listed. Worked in coloured silks on a fine woollen ground. Dated 1803 made by M Birch. The sampler is square in shape and has a simple floral border.
WOOLLEN CANVAS, embroidered with coloured silks in cross stitch. A map of Wales. On the right hand side is the inscription: "A / MAP / of / WALES / by/ M. BIRCH. / 1803". On the left there is a north point. There is a border of a wavy stem with blossoms.
