Boat-shaped dessert dish, soft-paste 'duck-egg' porcelain, thickly potted with prominent mould lines, green translucency and a pronounced green tinge to the glaze, which is pitted and stained brown over the foot mouldings, patch of green stain inside the foot; standing on a stepped and domed foot, and spreading stem, the oval bowl cruciform-moulded with a notched and waved rim rising at the ends to folded lip handles. The interior decorated in the centre with an on-glaze transfer-print comprising a seated Chinese figure, surrounded by five standing figures of attendants within a landscape of buildings and trees, including a river with European style houses in the background, all overpainted in blue, green, red, purple, brown, orange, grey and black enamels, gilt border around the rim of scrolled reserves containing small iron red landscapes alternating with larger polychrome scenes of birds on branches,the handles parcel gilt; the exterior plain except for gilt line to foot.
