An iron wing compass used for transferring measurements, describing circles and scribing. The two straight legs are held in position by means of a thumbscrew action on a narrow steel strip shaped to form a quarter circle and fixed to one of the legs. The thumbscrew is missing. On the two legs are ornamental serrations next to grooves for holding the compass. G.Beech 16/05/16
