Sun bonnet worn by Ann Williams when gathering hay in the fields near Rhigos in the 1890s.
Blue cotton print with white flowers and dots. Traditional style with machine stitched brim, gathered cap and long neck shield at back. Ties for fastening under chin. Constructed in five sections: brim (padded/quilted over thick cotton cords); cap (frills and lines of piping running across the head from left to right: three 2cm wide frills and four lines of piping); quilted centre back section of cap; neck-shield (double layer of fabric, corners are rounded, outer layer is slightly shorter.
