Candlestick, chamber
Pollard, William (1803 - 1854)
Chamber candlestick, soft-paste porcelain, the dish with flattened foot rim, cushion-moulded body profile and asymmetric scrolled rim, the central candle holder is in the form of a stylised flower trumpet with fluting to the upper and middle sections, and is attached to the dish via a narrow pedestal with flaring foot, the handle is in the form of a stylised branch; the well is decorated with scrolls in gilt and a frieze of wild and garden flowers, there are also gilt highlights on the handle and candle holder.
