Vase
Oviform vase, slightly grainy 'trident' paste porcelain, poor translucency, clear slightly pitted glaze, slender oviform body, high neck with flat everted lip, knopped hour-glass stem and square foot, elaborate curved handles with moulded fan and anthemion terminals; made in two sections, joining at top of stem, and fastened with a steel rod with a brass nut and washer under the foot. Decorated on either side with landscapes, one a river scene, crags to right, the other a road with a ruined building to right and a shrine to left, both reserved against dotted gilt quatrefoils on the white ground, gold ground to lip, neck and stem, handles parcel gilt, caillouté gilding to the foot.
