Milk jug, white translucent paste and lustrous glaze, rectangular `London' shape with spreading lip and pronounced mould lines, tapering loop handle with acanthus thumbpiece; decorated on the sides only in pale polychrome enamels with genre scenes of fashionably dressed children and peasants, one comprising a boy and a girl buying fruit from a seated woman with a man leaning over a fence behind, the other of two girls receiving a posy of flowers from a woman with basket flanked by a man with a slung pack.
