S.S. FORT LA PRAIRIE (7138gt). North Sands type built November 1943 by United Shipyards Ltd, Montreal, for MoWT (managed by Common Bros., Newcastle : Dalhousie S.S. Co., from 1946). 1950 – Acquired by Counties Ship Management Co., London, and renamed ELM HILL. 1964 – Sold to Antarctica (Bermuda) Shipping Co. Ltd., Hamilton, Bermuda. She was sold to a Japanese shipbreaker in 1967, arriving at Hirao, Japan, on 22 March of that year to be broken up. (The vessel originally intended to be FORT LA PRAIRIE was launched as PRINCE ALBERT PARK at Davie SB & Repair Co., Lauzon in June 1942).
