Mug, of buff stoneware, standing on a flat base, with banding above the foot of the body, the body with cylindrical sides, with an incised band below lip rim; scroll handle, restored, the lower terminal with ogee moulding; an iron-brown wash to the upper portions of the body and handle with a thin, clear salt-glaze to the whole body, giving a freckled appearance to the coloured portions; the interior with the clear salt-glaze and some colouration to inner lip rim; impressed with the excise mark WR beneath a crown to the left of the upper terminal of handle.
