Four further self-covered buttons at either side of front and back for attachment of braces; triangular insert of white linen tabby fabric at upper centre back (upper edge raw/pinked) with two holes either side for lacing together. Slit at outer calves closed with five gold coloured metal buttons and cloth strap. Front section of strap fastening is plain (no button or buckle), but rear counterpart has buttonhole.
