Tea bowl and saucer
Tea bowl and saucer, soft-paste 'duck egg' porcelain; the bowl standing on a straight sided foot rim curving into rounded sides, with a sharply flared lip; saucer on a straight sided foot rim, with curved sides, flaring at lip; both decorated with set pattern 164; transfer-printed and filled in enamels with the Mandarin pattern, in the 'famille rose' palette - a village scene of a seated mandarin and others in front of an oriental house; a gilt scrolled border with small cartouches of landscapes in iron red alternating with larger cartouches of birds perched on branches, above grey trees; gilt band to the bowl's foot rim.
