Swatches of tweed bound inside a rectangular shaped book covered in green imitation leather (coated fabric). The front cover is decorated with a gold printed border, the company stamp (LB&DExeter) and the name of the type of fabrics (Exetwist 'SLS' exclusive twist worsteds). There is also a handwritten paper sticky label adhered to the front cover which reads 'All sold out' The left sides of the swatches appear to have been embedded in adhesive. On the end of the binding is a hanging loop made from red, yellow and green twisted rope.

Each fabric has a rectangular shaped green label adhered to the upper right corner, the first one reads 'Exetwist SLS 7271' and has the symbol for pure new wool in the bottom right corner. The following swatches has consecutive numbers till 7301.

The tweeds consist of a selection of stripes and checks in blues, browns and greys, the exposed edges are 'pinked' to prevent fraying. The first swatch has an additional label which reads ' Tickets are affixed to the face of the pattern' Swatch number 7272, 7278 and 7280 have pieces missing, 7280 is actually only a small sample and has been pinned to 7281.
