Early Bronze Age pottery collared urn
Tripartite collared urn with straight, upright collar, plain internal bevel and slightly carinated shoulder. The collar is decorated with a lattie of twisted cord impressions bordered above and below by three rows of twisted cord impressions. The neck to shoulder zone is decorated with an interrupeted herringbone pattern of twisted cord impression with a pair of rows around the shoulder. The urn has been burnt, becoming very distorted and cracked, perhaps as a result of mis-firing. Some areas of decoration are completely obliterated and surface of the pot is becoming vitrified.
