Dressing gown
Full-length printed cotton dressing gown/house coat. Made by Mrs Consuela Anderson during post-war rationing as a gift for her daughter-in-law, about 1945-52.
Yellow ground, decorated all-over with national emblems (rose, thistle and shamrock for England, Scotland and Ireland; a maple leaf for Canada; a kangaroo & emu for Australia; an elephant for India). Machine sewn. Single breast pocket proper left. Cuffs, collar and pocket trimmed with blue cotton. Three button closure at torso, two poppers to close below waist. Tie belt around waist.
