Dish, soap, liner and cover
Soap dish, earthenware, oblong shape with flat base and waved sides, a band of moulded anthemions around the exterior lip-rim, the liner rests in the top of the dish, oblong shape with flat base flaring sides and spreading rim, the rim moulded with anthemions, numerous perforated holes to the bottom of the liner, oblong domed cover with straight waved sides and flat rim, a band of moulded anthemions around the top of the cover; transfer-printed in black with to the top of the cover and the interior bottom of the liner an Italianate scene showing a church-like building with a castellated tower to one side and to the other side a monopteros, a small figure stands between the two buildings, in the foreground a number of flowers and foliage, in the background a landscape with buildings and hills, border to the exterior sides of the cover and the exterior sides of the dish of flowers, foliage and scrolls on a stippled black ground, narrow dentilled borders around the rim of the cover, the interior sides of the liner and the top of the exterior sides of the dish, a slightly brownish tinge to the glaze in places.
