Early Medieval bone pin
Bone pin or 'toilet article' with flat oval shaft profile and zoomorphic head. The point is missing. The head bears a superficial resemblance to Roman bone pins or ligulae with dolphins or dragonesque heads, which clearly inspired some 'toilet articles' from Lagore and Lough Faughan. It seems likely that the animal here is a stag, rearing up on its hind legs, though for this I can find no parallels (L. Alcock).
