Self-portrait
Artist: MORRIS, Cedric (1889-1982)
Morris was born at Sketty near Swansea, into a family of prominent industrialists. In 1914 he started studies in Paris which were interrupted by the First World War. One of the artist's earliest paintings, this self-portrait was executed after his move in 1919 to Newlyn in Cornwall. It is unclear if the landscape at top right represents a view through a window or a painting hanging on the wall.
