Victory Medal
Victory medal instituted in 1919 to commemorate victory of the Allies over the Central Powers. Brass medal (ribbon missing). Obverse depicts winged Victory with left arm extended and right hand holding a wreath. Reverse inscribed ‘THE GREAT WAR FOR CIVILISATION 1914-1919’ surrounded by a wreath.
Victory Medal. Obverse depicts winged Victory holding a wreath. Inscription on reverse, surrounded by a wreath. Inscription on edge. Sent to the parents of Private David John Griffiths, a tinplate worker from Morriston, who was killed in action 21 March 1918.
