Roman samian bowl
The ovolo cannot be identified: it has a wavy line border below. There is a series of plain festoons containing animal heads, one of which is a bear, O.1595. The other is probably a lion. The style is comparable with S&S 1958, fig. 19, 2, in the style of X-5, and pl. 73:13, in the style of X-6. The ware suggests an Antonine rather than a Hadrianic date.
