Swatch of tweed
Small swatches of tweed held together at the top with two copper alloy rivets. The rivets extend through and close against a thick card backboard. The side edges of this card are pinked. On the back of the card, each of the two rivets is covered by an oval piece of black self-adhesive paper.
Two further pieces of [thinner] card (10 x 3cm) are adhered to both upper front and back of the swatches. The front piece of card has a paper surface which has a print of two rows of a gold key pattern on black ground. The rear piece of card is plain white. Both pieces of card are connected with a piece of black coated fabric which extends over the top of the swatches and is adhered underneath the two pieces of card.
2 different self-adhesive paper labels are attached to the front of each fabric swatch: A black and silver print reading 'PURE NEW WOOL' and a black number on white ground: numbers 900 through to 932. [however, the label of the uppermost swatch is missing and swatches 907 and 919 are missing altogether].
