Taperstick
Powell, John (fl. ca. 1810 - 1830)
Taperstick, soft-paste mixed porcelain, with a slight green translucency, saucer-shaped stand on a shallow foot rim, the well edged with a row of beads, columnar stem with turned base and narrow sconce, ring handle; the stand decorated with a broad band of grey-green ground reserved with three sprays of pink roses, four small roses within a gilt line border around base of stem; the handle, stem base and sconce gilded.
