Pot-lid
Pot-lid, earthenware, circular shape with cylindrical flange and convex top; the upperside of the lid decorated with an underglaze polychrome transfer-print of 'Paris Exhibition 1878', showing a large elaborate exhibition building with minarets and flying many pennants, in the foreground are small figures on gravelled pathways, to the bottom of the scene the inscription "PARIS EXHIBITION 1878", the scene enclosed by a circular line and dot border. The glaze crazed.
