VC2- S-AP2 “Victory” type cargo ship built 1945 as DEVILS LAKE VICTORY by Permanente Metals Corp., Richmond, California (two steam turbine engines by Westinghouse Electric & Manufacturing Co., Pittsburg), for US War Shipping Administration. 1946 – Transferred to the US Maritime Commission (same name). 1951 – Sold to Bloomfield Steamship Co., Houston, Texas, and renamed ALICE BROWN. 1957 – Renamed MARY ADAMS (same owner), then sold to States Marine Corporation, New York, and renamed MAGNOLIA STATE. She was broken up at Koahsiung in 1970. (statesmarinelines.com)
