S.S. LINARIA. Laid down as EMPIRE PITCAIRN for MoWT, but completed 1944 for the Admiralty as Fleet Air Arm maintenance ship HMS MORAY FIRTH (Pennant No. F62) by J. Readhead & Sons Ltd., South Shields. She was commissioned in November 1945. 1947 – Sold to Stag Line and converted for commercial use to 7333gt by Tyne Dock Engineering Co Ltd. She was renamed LINARIA., and managed by J. Robinson & Sons Ltd. 1954 – Sold to Chellew Navigation Co., London and renamed ESKGLEN., managed by H.M. Lund, London. 1956 – Owners restyled Esk Shipping Co Ltd., (no change of name). 1961 – Sold to Fortune Shipping Co., Hong Kong, and renamed MARINE FORTUNE.
