S.S. GLEN USK, negative
Port broadside view of S.S. GLEN USK.
S.S. GLEN USK (524gt). Built 1914 by Ailsa Shipbuilding Co. Ltd., Troon, for P & A Campbellās White Funnel Fleet. She almost immediately entered Royal Navy service as a minesweeper in Scottish waters. This was repeated in 1939. Her peace-time duties were on the Newport - Bristol - Swansea routes, missing only the 1957 season due to poor passenger returns. She was finally laid up again from 1961 and eventually towed to Cork in 1963 for breaking up at Passage West.
