Vase, hard-paste porcelain, urn-shaped body with spreading foot, to the front and rear of the exterior body at the shoulder are large modelled groups of naturalistic flowers trailing garlands of modelled flowers down the sides of the body, to either side of the exterior body are twin twisted loop handles modelled to resemble twigs with moulded floral sprays around their terminals; finely painted in polychrome enamels with to the front of the exterior body an oval panel painted in grey monochrome against a mottled purple ground with a group of classical figures and a lion, below the figures is painted the Greek inscription "ALEXAND.E", to the rear of the exterior body another oval panel also painted in grey monochrome against a mottled purple ground with a classical pillar and symbolic motifs, both panels are enclosed by gilt borders, to either side of the exterior body are sprays of roses with sprigs of forget-me-nots around the rest of the exterior body, around the foot and shoulder are elaborate borders of foliate motifs in gilt, heavy slightly worn gilt bands around the foot-rim and exterior lip-rim, a worn gilt band around the lower body, the modelled flowers painted in naturalistic polychrome enamels, the handles painted in green with the moulded flowers painted in blues and pinks.
