Roman clay waste mould
Incomplete on all sides; grass-tempered, burnt black within and grey to buff on the exterior surface. The inner surface bears linear impressions, carefully and sharply defined, which would have resulted from the coating of a wax model with the clay. The design takes the form of two pairs of curved lines back-to-back, and balancing volutes on either side. At the top there is a trace of a horizontal line to close the design, and in the triangular space between the two pairs of curved lines, at the top, two tiny crescentic sinkings appear.
