Seal impression: Paltinate of Durham
Equestrian : the bishop in armour on a horse galloping to observer's right, on his helm a coroneted mitre which has for crest, a bird (? dove) with wings extended ; his left hand grasps a shield : FORDHAM (supra), with the same arms on the horse caparisons. On horse's head a fan-crest. Field strewn with roses or cinquefoils; elaborate cusped border. Foliage geometrically arranged seperates the words of the legend.
