S.S. AMERSHAM (7290gt). Built 1941 by J. Readhead & Sons Ltd., South Shields as EMPIRE RAIN for MoWT, and managed by Thompson Steamship Co., London. 1945 - Sold to Thompson Steamship Co., and renamed AMERSHAM. 1952 - Sold to Malabar Steamship Co., Bombay, and renamed JANETA. She was broken up at Bombay in 1961.
