H.M.S. BEAULY FIRTH (7285gt). Laid down as EMPIRE SARAWAK, but completed in 1944 by John Readhead & Sons, South Shields, as H.M.S. BEAULY FIRTH, a hull repair and maintenance ship for the Admiralty. She was commissioned in 1945. 1948 - Bought by Stanhope Steamship Co., Ltd (managed by J.A. Billmeir & Co.), and renamed STANFIRTH. 1961 - Bought by Cia. Nav. y Comercio Degedo Ltd, Costa Rica (managed by Aegis Shipping Co., Ltd, Greece) and renamed AKAMAS. In 1966, taken over by Akamas Shipping Co., Ltd, Cyprus (still under Greek management). 1968 - renamed SKEPSIS for her final voyage to the breaker's yard at Shanghai. She is seen here with a deck cargo of landing craft.
