Seal impression: Paltinate of Durham
Under a carved canopy, the bishop seated in pontificals; his ring visible upon his right hand (two fingers extended) raised in blessing. In side niches, dext. the Blessed Virgin standing crowned and supporting her Child: sin. St.Cuthbert holding the head of ST.Oswald. In field, two shields: SEE OF DURHAM (as E242) with a cross flory on the sinister shield. In base, a shield: dext. the same arms, impaling sin. three combs, two and one, TUNSTALL : ensigned with a mitre.
