Figure
Figure of Neptune; a standing bearded man, twisting to left, wearing a crown and swathed in a purple robe reserved with gilt sprays in red bordered cartouches and lined with pink. His right hand holds the robe across his chest and he holds aloft in his left a gilt metal trident (modern replacement). Behind him is a dolphin, scaled in green and black and trimmed in red, tail upturned, water is issuing from the mouth; tall domed base thickly encrusted with shells, seaweed and coral, naturalistically enamelled.
